Chiropractic Care for Muscle Spasms in Rhode Island
Muscle spasms can be excruciating, causing sudden, involuntary contractions that can affect any body part. Whether caused by injury, overuse, or tension, DeCrescenzo Chiropractic provides personalized, non-invasive treatments to relieve muscle spasms and prevent them from recurring. Our chiropractic care focuses on addressing the root causes of your muscle spasms, promoting relaxation, and restoring mobility.
What Causes Muscle Spasms?
Muscle spasms can occur for a variety of reasons, including:
- Overuse or Fatigue: Repetitive motions or excessive strain on muscles can cause them to contract involuntarily.
- Dehydration or Electrolyte Imbalance: Lack of proper hydration or an imbalance of minerals such as potassium and calcium can trigger muscle spasms.
- Injury or Trauma: Injuries, such as sprains or strains, can lead to muscle spasms as the body attempts to protect the injured area.
- Poor Posture or Misalignment: Misalignment in the spine or poor posture can strain the muscles, leading to spasms.
- Nerve Compression: Nerve irritation or compression can cause the muscles to tighten, leading to spasms.
Chiropractic Treatment for Muscle Spasms in Rhode Island
At DeCrescenzo Chiropractic, we offer non-invasive chiropractic treatments designed to relieve muscle spasms and prevent them from recurring. Our treatments reduce muscle tension, improve alignment, and promote natural healing.

Spinal Manipulation
Spinal manipulation can be used to address spinal misalignments that may contribute to muscle spasms. By restoring proper joint function and movement, this technique can reduce pain, improve stability, and promote healing.

Class IV Hot Laser Therapy
Class IV Hot Laser Therapy can help reduce inflammation and promote healing of muscle spasms. The laser energy increases blood circulation to the affected area, stimulating cellular regeneration and reducing pain.

Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy can address pain and soft tissue damage resulting from muscle spasms. The high-energy sound waves stimulate the body's natural healing response, breaking down scar tissue, reducing inflammation, and promoting the growth of new blood vessels for long-term pain relief.

Electro Muscle Stimulation
Electro Muscle Stimulation (EMS) can be used to reduce muscle spasms and pain by delivering electrical impulses to the affected muscles, promoting relaxation and reducing tension.
Symptoms of Muscle Spasms
The symptoms of muscle spasms can vary depending on the severity and location of the spasms. Common symptoms include:
- Sudden, sharp muscle pain
- Tightening or cramping of the muscle
- Muscle weakness or fatigue
- Difficulty moving the affected area
- Recurring muscle stiffness or spasms
If you’re experiencing frequent muscle spasms, it’s important to seek chiropractic care to address the underlying cause and prevent further complications. At DeCrescenzo Chiropractic, we provide a thorough evaluation and develop a personalized treatment plan to help you recover.

Nice office: furniture like someone’s living room! Very clean and no dust anywhere.
Courteous staff. Dr Annie G was also very cordial and open for questions and did a thorough job of questioning me about details of reason for my visit.
This was followed by a careful exam of my back by deep palpation and then a minor adjustment of my L hip.
The visit concluded with an EMG (electric pads treatment) of my upper shoulders by her medical assistant for 10 minutes which was a bit surreal because it felt like a massage but no one was pressing anything. It felt very good basically once I got used to it.
Doctor Annie G took a moment to say goodbye and her receptionist said they were faxing her recommendations for X-rays to my primary care MD so the price of these X-rays would be covered by my insurance. Thoughtful.
I was billed $50 for first visit since it was not covered by my insurance or Medicare.
My primary insurance is Tri-care since I’m retired military and I was disappointed it was not accepted. When I looked into it, it would not have covered a first visit anyway though.
I guess I will just have to see how my secondary insurer Medicare handles these visits.
But otherwise, I was highly satisfied and I want to continue my care here.

So it’s been 2 months of treatment now. I am now down to every 2 weeks. The problems with my neck are much improved. My lower back still bothers me but it isn’t every day any more and overall it’s improved so I can walk more comfortably. I am continuing my visits and although the doctor urged me to come in anytime I was having a bad day and she would squeeze me in! This has not been necessary but I appreciated her telling me that.
Medicare is covering my visits except for a small Co-pay. I continue to highly recommend Decrecenso Chiropractic and Dr Annie G and her assistants and staff to anyone who has pain issues with their neck or lower back similar to mine.
Beautiful, very Clean and a very comfortable setting . I’m going to miss everyone there and I definitely would Recommend them to everyone I definitely give them a Five 🌟
Review. Thank you for your Services.
